I guess you are serious about physics
then i think you should check out their website
and see if there are any fields you like... i mean you really want to invest
your five year for your phd. Since the H1b is out of stock in just a few
days, i guess it will be harder and harder to work for companies. At the
same time if you want to be a professor, you don't have this pressure. that
is the good part of your phd degree.
I don't know much about these universities (sorry). Secondly, i would like
to say a high ranked Univ will benifit you a lot obviously... check US news
for their ranking.
Thirdly, i would like to say that staying in a big city will make your study
and life easy.
Anyway,It is your call, you have to find a balance somewhere.
